What Safa does
Step-by-step guide
Every step of Umrah, or of Hajj tamattu’, ifrad or qiran, in order and with its date. The step you are on is marked, so you always know what comes next.
Your school’s rulings
Each step shows whether your school counts it as a pillar, required or sunnah. Open “Where schools differ” to compare the Hanafi, Maliki, Shafi’i and Hanbali positions.
A counter for every round
A large ring you tap after each round of tawaf, each lap of sa’i and each pebble. No more losing count in the crowd, and Undo if you tap twice.
Checklists
Documents, health, packing and the things to do before you leave, with room for your own items.
Saving up and budget
Set a savings goal and a date, and see how much to put aside each month. Plan the trip budget as one total or by category, and add what you spend as you go.
Duas and widgets
Write down your duas and the people who asked you to pray for them, to tick off on the day. Home-screen widgets show the countdown, your savings, the steps to go and the next step with its counter.
Private by design
Safa never goes online.
The app has no internet access at all. There is no account, no advertising and no tracking, so your plans, your savings and your duas stay between you and your phone. You can lock the app with your phone’s screen lock, save a backup file whenever you like, and delete everything with one button. Read the privacy policy.
A guide, not a fatwa
Safa follows the well-known positions of the four schools, and shows where they differ. Scholars differ on many details, and what to do after a missed or mistaken step depends on what happened. Please follow your group’s scholar or your own imam, and ask them whenever something goes wrong.
وَأَذِّن فِى ٱلنَّاسِ بِٱلْحَجِّ يَأْتُوكَ رِجَالًۭا
“And proclaim to the people the Hajj; they will come to you on foot.”
Surah Al-Hajj (22:27)
