Zaka

Privacy policy

Version 1 · Last updated 22 October 2026

In short: Zaka keeps what you enter on your own phone. We have no accounts and no servers that store your information, and we do not use advertising or analytics. The app goes online only to fetch gold and silver prices when you ask.

Who we are

Zaka is published by Quiet Light Apps, an independent developer. You can reach us at support@quietlightapps.win. This policy applies to the Zaka app for Android and to this website.

What stays on your phone

Everything you put into Zaka is stored only in the app’s private storage on your phone: the assets and debts you add, prices you type, your zakat year dates, payment records, faraid entries and your settings. We cannot see any of it, and it is not sent to us.

What leaves your phone

WhenWhat is sentTo whom
You tap the button to get current pricesA request for the gold price, the silver price and, if you use another currency, the exchange rate for that currency code (for example THB). No amounts, names or identifiers are sent.api.gold-api.com (metal prices) and api.frankfurter.dev (exchange rates). Like any website, they can see your IP address and basic technical details of the request. See their own privacy policies.
You tap “Send feedback”Whatever you choose to write. The app opens your email app or a web form in your browser. Nothing is sent automatically.Us, by email or through a web form.
You buy the appYour purchase is handled entirely by Google Play. We do not receive your payment details.Google. See Google’s privacy policy.

What we do not do

Permissions the app asks for

Zaka does not ask for access to your location, contacts, camera, microphone or storage. When you save or restore a backup, you choose the file yourself using Android’s own file picker.

Backups

“Save a backup” creates a file in the place you choose. The file contains your entries in readable form and is not encrypted, so keep it somewhere safe. Android may also include the app’s data in your phone’s own backup to your Google account if you have that backup turned on. That is controlled by your phone settings and by Google, not by us.

App lock

If you turn on the app lock, Zaka asks your phone to confirm your screen lock (PIN, pattern, password or fingerprint). Zaka never sees or stores those details. While the lock is on, Zaka hides its screen from screenshots and the recent apps view.

Deleting your data

Open Settings, then Backup and your data, then Delete all my data. You can also uninstall the app, which removes its data from your phone. Backup files you saved yourself stay where you put them until you delete them. If you emailed us and want that email deleted, write to us and we will delete it.

Children

Zaka is not designed for children and we do not knowingly collect information from anyone, including children.

Your rights

Because Zaka does not send your entries to us, we hold no personal data from the app that we could show, correct or delete. If you contact us, we hold only what you wrote to us, and you can ask to see or delete it.

Changes to this policy

If the app changes in a way that affects this policy, we will update this page, the version number and the date above before the change reaches you. Earlier versions stay available at their own address, for example /zaka/privacy/v1/ for version 1.
