Ramadan calculates times and keeps a diary. It is not a fatwa: follow your mosque and your local moon sighting.
1. About these terms
These terms apply to your use of the Ramadan app for Android, published by Quiet Light Apps (“we”, “us”). By installing or using Ramadan you agree to them. If you do not agree, please do not use the app.
2. What Ramadan is, and is not
Ramadan calculates prayer times, including the end of suhoor and the time of iftar, from the position of the sun for the place you choose, shows the dates of Ramadan from the Umm al-Qura calendar, keeps a diary of your fasts and worship, and plans a reading of the whole Quran.
Ramadan is not a scholar and does not give fatwas. Calculated times can differ by a few minutes from your mosque, and the start and end of the month depend on the moon sighting your community follows.
3. Your responsibility
You are responsible for choosing the right place and settings, and for checking the times against your mosque’s timetable. When in doubt, stop eating a little earlier and break your fast once you are sure the sun has set. For rulings on fasting, ask your own imam or scholar.
4. Purchase and refunds
Ramadan is sold as a one-time purchase on Google Play. Payment, refunds and receipts are handled by Google under Google Play’s terms and refund policy.
5. Licence
We give you a personal, non-exclusive licence to use Ramadan on your own devices. You may not copy, resell or reverse engineer the app, unless the law gives you that right. The city list is from Natural Earth (public domain) with time zones from the city-timezones project (MIT licence).
6. No guarantees
We work hard to make Ramadan accurate, and we fix mistakes we find, but we cannot promise that it is free of errors or always available. To the extent the law allows, Ramadan is provided “as is”, and we are not responsible for decisions you make based on it. Nothing in these terms limits your legal rights as a consumer, or any liability the law does not allow us to limit.

How Ramadan handles information is explained in the privacy policy.
8. Changes
We may update the app and these terms. If we change the terms in a way that matters, we will update this page, the version number and the date above. Earlier versions stay available at their own address, for example /ramadan/terms/v1/ for version 1.
