Common questions
The times differ from my mosque.
Mosques use different methods and safety margins. On the Times tab, move suhoor or iftar a few minutes under Match your mosque, or tap a day in the timetable and type your mosque’s times. You can also change the method there.
Ramadan starts a day earlier or later where I live.
On the Times tab, open How the times are worked out and choose One day earlier or One day later under Moon sighting.
My town is not in the list.
Choose the nearest city, which is usually within a minute or two, or tap Type my own coordinates. A maps app shows them when you press and hold a spot.
The reminders come a few minutes late.
Open Settings, then Reminders, and tap Allow alarms and reminders. Some phones also stop apps in the background to save battery: allow Ramadan to run in your phone’s battery settings.
How do I count the Quran I read?
On the Today tab, add pages with +1 or +1 juz. The Quran tab shows your plan and progress juz by juz.
I missed fasts. What now?
Note the reason on the Today or Days tab. Missed fasts are made up after Ramadan, before the next one. Our app Yusra can keep count of them with you.
How do I save a backup, or move to a new phone?
Open Settings, then Backup and your data, and tap Save a backup. On the new phone, install Ramadan, open the same section and tap Restore, then pick the file.
